IHI Coaching & Officiating Courses
August 6th, 2009Inline Hockey Ireland are looking to see how much interest there is in running coaching and officiating courses. These courses would certify an individual within the organisation and in the near future clubs may be required to have at least one certified coach and one certified official.
Anyone interested in taking one or both of these courses is encouraged to contact either us at Galway Bay Lightning (nathan@galwaybaylightning) or Jason Tessier at Inline Hockey Ireland by Monday August 10th.

We Won Both Our Exhibition Games
April 7th, 2009On Sunday April 5th, seven Galway Bay Lightning players travelled to the final, normal round of the national league in Kilkenny. There we played two exhibition games against the Kilkenny B senior team. As both teams were low on players we both accepted a number of players from other clubs to fill out the teams for the exhibition games. The Galway Bay Lightning team won both games, 3-1 and 7-1 respectively. A lot of experience was gained by the seven players who travelled and we now know the standard that is expected of us when we enter the league next season.
Thanks to Kilkenny B for playing two games against us, IHI for inviting us down and providing the time slots for the exhibition games, and the players from the other clubs who played with us.
